Ferret's new home, twice as big as the old one. Still sort of a wip, I ran out of panels to make the doors. I plan to get a few more boxes so I can make it taller.
Hammocks are fleece scraps.Got tired of replacing expensive petco ones every week, they usually get destroyed pretty fast. These are cheaper to replace.

something like an inch and a half, around there. Ive been keeping an eye on it to make sure they arent escaping. You can get these at target, usually they come with two different spaced panels. Im gonna use the remaining looser spaced panels for my dealers room shelves when I sell at cons.
for rats, hmm. if you zip tie two panels together but offset them so the holes are smaller you might be able to do it with adult rats.
Location in target, storage section? I think thats where I found them.
Base is from the old cage. it fit almost perfectly so I used it again. you might be able to use one of the plastic storage tubs or something like that

That's one fine ferretorium you've created there. ^^
How's that litter tray working out for you? I had no end of trouble trying to combat "overshots" and other bloopers with my ferrets that made cleaning up after them far more of an adventure than I had imagined. The high-backed design of that tray looks like it may well solve most of the problems.

I got mine at Walmart. They come in chrome or black. I assume they would be cheaper there unless you use a 20% coupon BB&B usually have. I use the panels as fences to keep the bunnies away from cords and stuff. The pannels are in two sizes, so I put the small on the bottom and put the larger as the second tier since they easily can jump one.
