Firelight gets a nice rubbery suit and prepares to cosplay as a Charizard. Fits like a glove!
Yes, she actually did light the tip of her tail on fire to complete the imagery. Don't worry, both her and the suit are fireproof. =)

Here's a funny but true story. Back in... I'll say 1997 or 1998, I had this friend in school whose mother often went to Japan (she was Japanese herself, and I think went on business trips there). Well, one of the things she brought back were these cute little monster stickers. No one at the school knew what they were at the time (myself included), but my friend gave me a couple stickers that I saw and absolutely had to have. They were a couple of cute lizards with little fires on their tails. Guess who they turned out to be! =D
It just went to show that I was destined to love the Charmander forms from the very beginning before anyone even knew what Pokemon was.

Hadn't thought of it that way. I guess I was! Of course, I saw a lot of neat Japanesy stuff courtesy of my friend. Like... what appeared to be some sort of Final Fantasy-like Sailor Moon RPG on the Super Famicom. Wild.
I also got a video cassette of an undubbed (obviously) Dragon Ball Z movie. To this day I can't exactly tell you which one it was, but it was cool. And stranger still, it was recorded off of a network, so I was privy to some bizarre Japanese commercials, including a Japanese dub of a McDonald's commercial they were playing in America at the time. Just... odd.
