Here's a view of Lake Atitlan in the highlands of Guatemala. It's an old crater lake (the volcano exploded about 90,000 years ago to form it) and it's 300 meters deep ON AVERAGE! There are now 3 dormant volcanoes surrounding the lake.
I think it's one of the best places I've ever seen.
