(just some story stuff i'm working on)
The plateau known as the giants table a stretch of a grassy field that had massive cliffs on its north and south ends and large hills on the east and west a normally quiet place was disrupted late in the night as a massive shape burst from the trees onto it chased by a smaller shape the great hulking creature that was the ogre running with all its might across the plateau as it tried to out run its pursuer desperately a man in a dark cloak he pulled out his cross bow and fired it off taking the creature down with the powerful shot. As he ran over to claim a bit of proof to pay off the bounty he was given on this beast as he did so something came out of the mists and took something from the body disappearing just as quickly back into the fog . The man ran to the fallen creature an ogre from the north they never came this far south before it was unheard of the arrow felled the creature with was unusable enough but the man was a very good shot the creature wasn’t quite dead yet it rolled over and trust a small bundle toward the man a baby an ogre child the man took the bundle and brushed over his face. Since his wife had died a year or two ago the man had been very lonely but as soon as he saw the small child he formed an attachment too it the man smiled and kissed the Childs forehead “Don’t worry I will take care of you for your mother I’m Isaac”. He took the child to his home on the eastern side of the giants table a small home with a smithy outside and more than enough room for a few more people.
The home was a small wooden house for about 4 people Isaac and his wife had been planning on having a child before she died. He missed her dearly she was buried not far from his home he visited most days since her death since her memory was all he had left now the house was an empty cold place without her. He hoped that this child would bring a new life to his home. The child was an ogre like his mother a powerful humanoid creature massively strong and always treated as if it was rather stupid though the child could not speak any intelligible tongue tongues because of the way his jaw was formed this was the first of many things that Isaac learned was false about the ogers they are not stupid they just can’t speak he rather quickly picked up a sign language to communicate. While that was true the ogres differences to the average human came to light fairly fast first and for most the child matured rapidly but once he reached a certain age seemed to stop aging all together. The other was his hands ogre hands didn’t seem to operate as well as human making it hard for him to hold things but Isaac was a black smith a fairly good one if he did say so himself and managed to make some simple tools for the child. Isaac named the child Hum it seemed silly at first but it seemed to suit the mute ogre. Amongst the differences from humans to ogres was the large strange tusks in their jaws and their skin colour being a strange green the other major one most orgers Isaac had ever seen were heavily over weight but the child didn’t seem to have that issue because Isaac kept him active teaching him the smiting sills as how to fight seemed to keep him thin and strong. The child gave Isaac a new purpous and drive in life he brought happiness back to his life. Over the next few years Isaac taught hum everything that he could how to smith how to fight perfecting his sign language and most importantly how to hide his ogre heritage. Hum learnt fast his ability for fighting was almost innate his strength made him a power house in combat able to deal out huge amounts of damage with even the simplest of attacks; in addition to this once he learned to make his own weapons and tools made him even more dangerous. Finally he taught him how to use the dangerous power of alchemy. Along with the stories of the izarti a long lost and nearly forgotten race of people. Many years pasted during this teaching of skills and important lessons
Isaac decide to take him to work to put all this natural talent to a puprous the kingdom relied on people to hunt the monsters of the land for them since the king seemed not able to control them. They called themselves bounty hunters and they were amongst the most respected and dangerous people in the land of reimus. They also made and sold weapons in the nearby village a place most commonly referred to as the cross roads Isaac couldn’t remember its real name for the life of him, the cross roads was placed very nearly to the very center of the kingdom it was sort of the trading hub of the kingdom salesmen and traders from all over came from near and far to sell their wares to the many travelers that passed though.
It was a chilled morning just at the start of the cooling of the local area not practically cold but enough to be aware of the drop in the temperature it was still early in the day the sun had just started coming up from the breaking dawn. Isaac was working on loading up the cart as hum made the last few weapons in the forge for this month’s shipment he led the old bay mare to the cart and started hooking her up the poor old girl was starting to get to the age where Isaac had to start consider putting out to pasture. Hums hammer rung against the anvil as he shaped the steel to useful shape a few sabers for the locals to sell the cross roads didn’t have many actual locals at all mostly it was a consent influx of merchants. He cooled the blades in the nearby bucket and carried it out to the cart. Isaac would ride in the cart and Hum would lead the old mare along the trail to make sure she didn’t tumble beside witch Hum was too large for the small horse. Isaac dressed in his black hunting clothes and put on a saber that he used most of the time as his main weapon Hums clothing was a cloak with a hood and a black clothing that covered most of his body he wore a metal mask over his face made to look like a skull and he wore two steel gauntlets over his hands and carried a long sword and a curved dagger as the other weapons. The clothing was covered him completely making him look more human if a bit on the large side and gave birth to his hunters name he was known as “deaths hand” Isaac put on his wolfs head hat that gave him his name he was “wolf” a simple name really but one that most knew he was a master mind and his knowledge of the beasts around the place was his strongest suit.
They trundled their cart down the old road slowly it bumped along the roots and dips caused by rain and years of neglect rattling their delivery around in the back of the cart the weapons and armor rattled about the cart. The cart trundled down the old path jarring it around rather roughly hum managed to lead the old mare through the path to this point with any damage to her. But he brought the cart to a stop at a point in the small Forest surrounding his home turning his head from left to right the ogre could smell much better than the average human but gave up a lot of their sense of touché for that. He slowly brought a hand up to single his father. “some very smelly people not far off they might be bandits” he said with small hand signals and quite a bit of finger movement Isaac slowly nodded holding a small vial loosely in one hand the power of alchemy was something to be very much afraid of if you didn’t play with right you could below yourself up if you were doing it right you were blowing the other guy up. The bandits were almost as dirty as they smelled most likely serfs from the holding over desperate for food the liege lord of that sector taxed the locals to this state not the king cared so long as he got his money. Hum balled his hands up and stood still near the horse as he watched the would be thieves as they tried to surround him and his father’s cart he grabbed a knife from his belt and threw it straight into the woods without even looking soon followed by a gurgle as the knife hit the bandit in the bushes with a make shift bow. The others grabbed their scythes and hoes coming toward the cart in a rage his father leapt from the cart grabbing a sword from behind him he slashed across the peasant’s weapons near the tops loping their weapons apart with the swing. Hum grabbed the bowed bandit and got the knife from his shoulder then Isaac did something strange he tossed them a bag of money getting back into his cart without a word hum lead the horse further down the path. The peasants fell to the ground gathering the coins n the ground as the pair left yelling and fighting over the minor riches .
