Why would people dislike drawing Pokémon charactors? O.o

I've heard everything from they consider them copyrighted characters to them being to childish. :(

I can understand the copyright aspect, but then that's not because they dislike drawing the character. However, a character like Nikki here doesn't conflict with the actual copyrighted character. Drawing Pikachu as he looks in the series conflicts with copyright. Drawing your own character design based on a pikachu style, but with noticeable differences, does not. I do believe Nikki qualifies on that last statement.

I know people have their reasons and it's never really the people refusing because of copyright issues that have upset me. It's just somewhat disheartening to really like a person's style, be willing to pay to see your ideas in that style, and for them to turn you down based solely on "pokemon being too childish for me to draw." To the point where on an auction on another art site the artist paid someone to outbid me in a prepose auction because my character was based on pikachu.

Yeah, that sucks, and definitely shows a lack of professionalism on the part of the artist. Unfortunately, most furry artists aren't professionals...sigh.

The same way some people dislike drawing My Little Pony or Smurfs or Care Bears or... THEY'RE TRYING TO RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE! Ahem, no, actually,, it all depends on what they like or dislike, and in that regard we're all different to some extent.

Honestly i don't see the problem in drawing pokemon characters... I actually have some ideas of certain pokemon characters as anthro's believe it or not :)
