This handsome guy is Rocket, who we rescued about a month ago after a friend networked him. We were told he was declawed & abandoned when his owners moved away, leaving him to fend for himself. It was only AFTER we caught him that we learned he was on his own like this for at least two years, and he had turned quite feral. Although he's not AS scared now, he still refuses to come out of the cage we have set up for him. He'll hiss and scratch (guess what, he's *not* declawed) at any attempts to pet or coax him out of his cage. He's not fond of the other animals in the house either, and we think if he has any chance at domestication it needs to be in a house where he's the only pet. So, the search is on to find him the right home situation, some friends have suggested allowing him to be a barn cat, others have suggested returning him to his original "stomping grounds", however we hate the thought of sending him back out like that and thus putting him at risk from coyotes etc. As you can see he's missing an ear, clearly he had a run in with another cat or a dog while on the streets.
