Updated--Swandog Fursuit Dress Wing Corset Concept
My Swandog fursuit dress concept badly needed updating (the old one is here: http://swandog.deviantart.com/art/S.....cept-110160881 ), so here's the "new and improved version", complete with a custom leather corset (bodice? vest? dunno what to call it) that will incorporate the base of the frame, motor and battery for the articulated wings. My wings will be based on the incredibly awesome ones made by Bushitaka: http://bushitaka.deviantart.com/gallery/ , who has been kind and gracious enough to chat "wing geekery" with me and to step me through the process of making them (which is going to take a loooong time). :)
Until the articulated wings are finished, I hope to have these temp, static wings made: http://swandogstudio.com/fursuit/swanwings.jpg , which are also far more travel-friendly (as they can fold down on top of each other), and will be attached at their base to this same corset. The thin leather flap on the back of the corset is just to conceal the bulk of the wing frame (as indicated by the dotted lines). I could do without it entirely (and I might), but I do like the look of it. Bushitaka used a scrap of white fabric to conceal his motor, and I could do likewise, and just sew extra (fake) feathers onto it: http://bushitaka.deviantart.com/art.....shop-175155196 to give it this appearance: http://l8.deviantart.com/art/Angel-.....guise-44037792 ...We'll see. :)
Anyways, I think I've finally found a dressmaker who can make this getup for me, and the silver/green leather corset will hopefully made by Lagueuse on DA. :) The design of my corset was heavily inspired by this one, using the same swing clasps, but in pewter (or something silvery-grey), instead of brass: http://www.etsy.com/listing/5253399.....e_id=161780993 , and the over-the-shoulder bit was inspired by this design (minus the lacing in back and with the added chest strap): http://www.harlotsandangels.co.uk/c.....ge.php?pID=268 The chest strap was added to the design because it is needed due to the weight of the wings, as seen here: http://bushitaka.deviantart.com/art.....h-v8-175156255
The dress itself will be made of shimmery silk velvet in hunter green, silver-grey and white (in the style of this one: http://holyclothing.com/index.php/d.....vet-dress.html ), and trimmed with the same reversible green/grey ribbon as used on the collar: http://swandog.deviantart.com/art/F.....-Peek-64638209 (I just drew it with simple swirlies here, since I didn't feel like drawing tons of little gryphons). :P The head of the fursuit can be seen in full here: http://swandog.deviantart.com/art/F.....Final-69144036 (that being so far the only part of the fursuit which is completed;
Beetlecat is making the legs, feet, tail and webbed gloves).
