Commission for
wolfbird My first Kigurumi commissioner! I have learned a great deal making this thing. It really pushed my patience to the limits! He is done except for some few minor tweaks on details that I need to do, including seam-trimming and to finish sewing closed the loops where the elastic for the legs is held. My machine didn't want to do it, so I have to go in and do it by hand. XD
Anyways...the character was a great deal of fun to work with, I'm glad his design wasn't any more complicated then it already is. As is, his design pushed me to the limits as far as complexity goes! I would like to take on more kigu commissions...but don't expect them to be nearly as cheap as this guy cost his new owner. It was an experiment to see if I were capable of doing it. I find Kigus to be even more work then fursuits, oddly enough. And still, I prefure to do fursuits. Kigus aren't as much fun for me. *shrug*
Commissions for fursuits, kigus, and plushies are open! Please note me if you are interested!

Sure do! If you'd like a quote, be sure to have a reference handy, and shoot me an email at Majin[at]kaylaskritterz.com
I figured I should maybe clarify because I think you might be a little confused... I'm not looking for an average to use as a sort of make shift quote... I'm looking for an average because I honestly do not know what an acceptable price range is on a custom level... I have a great understanding on what the average price range for fursuits and their various parts are... I have a great understanding on what an average laminated badge costs... Yes, on both of those the price differs both by character and by artist... but overall, I can say "This is typically what one would charge for these items" in a very generalized sense. I have no idea what's acceptable or "normal" on what people charge for custom kigurumis so I'm simply trying to gain a better understanding of what a typical price on these might be... I know what a premade one costs and I'm curious as to how far the average custom derives from that price. I understand that more complex characters entail additional charges and that each kigurumi comes with it's own price.... I just want to know, what you charge for a fairly typical character (not too simple, not too complex) to try and gain a better understanding on what one can expect in a very general sense. I only have one other frame of reference (they were charging $300ish give or take) and would like to gain a better understanding on whether that price range is typical or not for this sort of item by learning what others charge for them and using these average prices as a basis on what the "norm" is.
I am only aware of one other maker, who does not make her prices public. So I'm not even sure mine could be considered part of that "average" listing. I merely charge what I feel is fair given the cost of materials, and how much work it entails (Like any other artist with any other project) Typically my Kigus range between $300-$500 if thats what you were wanting to know. Again. It depends greatly on difficulty level and materials used. Ther aren't that many custom kigu makers out there (that I am aware of) so I have very little to compare my prices to.
