It's another Hockey Hunk series fanart from me! :) I've made some modifications to my original drawing of Mason in order to produce this work. The most notable change is adding some clothes on him and putting him in some city background. The scene follows a man-date between the protagonist, Rory, and Mason in order to give the shy wolf some dating tips. Here he's asking the protagonist if they should hold hands during their date hence the title hehe! :)
I did this so I can get some practice in adding some clothes to characters I've already drawn since I would someday like to join in a group that makes a visual novel. Sadly, I haven't found a group to join yet, so I guess I'll just use the time to keep practicing. :)

Do you know Dregna? He's one of the people I follow and I know that he's also interested in making a visual novel. Maybe you two can work together or something? :)

Well, there's this forum I go to and I'm waiting till we get more members before I even ask them what they think about making a furry VN.
Anyway, making an actual game's actually a lot more complicated than it seems. First of all, there's a lot of resources needed for it. There's story, artwork, background, dialogue scripts, music and programming (this one seems hard to find people who could do it). Even if one person has the skills to do all those, they need a lot of time to actually make some progress in every category. This would be even harder if the person has to hold down a job/studying at school.
So what to do when there's a lot of resources to make? Recruit others to help you out, as you've mentioned. You could try image boards like in baraspot or even forums like here in FA to get people to support you, but there's a risk there. One, is that a lot of people might not be interested to support you. The other is that since it's on the internet, people might not feel inclined to give their all to a stranger's project and may walk out during development. I saw this thing happen in one thread in baraspot where the guy talks about making a furry VN and got shot down (mostly due to his reputation).
It's not hopeless though. Morenatsu, a furry VN from Japan, was born from the 2Chan boards and the Anons there and is still in development and releasing new patches to this date. I'm not entirely sure what formula happened to make them actually do it (could be because they have loads of great artists contributing), but it still took them a few years to actually release a working version of the game.
Sorry for the wall of text here, but I did wanna explain how complicated it'd be. The short version is that the concept ideas need to be interesting enough to get people excited over it and to make sure to have a working demo ready first before announcing about the project in public. :)

Oh, the artwork. I forgot about it completely o.o
I know how hard it is to get people to join you. Heck, I tried making a Naruto RP forum, and everything was mostly ready, except that we (me and a buddy who prepared the forum) didn't manage to get any players to join us. Except for 3-4 other people who were acquaintances of ours, there was no one.
As expected, we dropped it after a few weeks.
I read a bit about Morenatsu, since this is not the first time I hear about it. It seems like an interesting VN. Thing is, I only managed to read a bit of Fate/Stay Night before getting bored of it, and I honestly am a big fan of it and everything related (god, I loved the anime). So I doubt I'll read any VN any time soon :3
Thanks for taking your time to explain everything to me. It's getting harder and harder to be able to have a serious conversation with someone on the internet nowadays >.<

Heya.
Yeah, I think that sort of thing needs to be proposed first on a forum with a very tight community and with various talented people. Otherwise, you'd need to ask around for help and that's rather hard to do.
I dunno, I just think Morenatsu's cool because it's a furry VN for dudes who love furry dudes. Plus, it's been done by a bunch of anons from 2chan, which is pretty neat.
It's no problem. I do apologize for not getting in contact anytime soon. ^^; Hmm, well, I don't think you should give up on finding serious discussions with someone on the internet. It's a vast place, surely you will run into someone. :)

No worries about the late response, it's okay.
I'm not planning on giving up, but rly there are so many trolls out there and other such people that it can be tiring and/or demoralizing. But I guess I just accept it as a fact that X person can't be talked to once he/she replies and just move on, ignoring it.
I'm happy to have made some very good friends on the internet with which I can talk about anything (besides the rl friends I can talk too) so it's k. ^^
