Good question! Well for one I think it's just different light. The sun is probably a bit further out from behind a cloud in this one. Plus those new bricks you see there are part of the slow restoration process they're doing on it, and they might make it look a little brighter.
How have you been doing these days? I don't see you online anymore. :(

It gives me great joy to see art photography here; Antigua is a fascinating city- versus many of the other colonial capitals and Spanish centres, it's better preserved, even with its destruction, in its original context, than pretty much any other colonial city.
All my photos were taken back in the days of film, versus digital stuff.) I need to get back before anything more deteriorates or collapses. If you've anymore to share, I'd, for one, really like to see them- your composition and contrasting use of the negative space through the piers and vault-arches, is fascinating!

I just came across this comment again, and I can't figure out why I haven't responded! Must've been a busy weekend or something
Anyway, thanks very much for the comment, and I'm quite flattered! I'm happy there are people on here who appreciate the photography. I'm no good at drawing so it's the only available creative outlet for me on this site right now. And I know why most people log onto this site -- it's a four letter word that starts with p and ends with n. I am no exception. If you look at my favorites you can catch me red handed. (Though, I guess in this situation "white handed" would be more appropriate.) D:
By all means get to Antigua again if you can and take some photos!
Thanks again!

No thanks necessary, Prof. I'm there with you on the whole "porn" thing.. I can't be bothered to comment more often than not, and I feel a bit guilty about it. Drop me a watch, I'm going topost some egyptian stuff that I've taken in museums locally.. I suspect you'll appreciate it.
Feel free to drop me a line anytime, too. can always private message if you'd just like to chat.
