This idea came to me while I was looking through a reference book of wolves that I have. The scan doesn't do it justice. For some reason my scanner likes to white out pictures that have a lot of white so some of the snow detail is nonexistent.
I rather like this picture. the background isn't as good as I would have liked. I would have preffered to use watercolors for the background but unfortunately I have no room to paint and dry in my current situation. I think It turned out good for pencil crayon. Snow isn't the most exciting background, I had to come up with stuff to fill it in with.
I really like the wolf. He has just caught a quail (which I had no reference for so it may not look really quail like. my boyfriend was on the computer). I tried to think up some natural colors for wolves and after looking at some pictures, they have layers of color in their fur, so I tried to do that by adding some brown and cream to the gray. Doesn't look as nice as in real life though. My scanner sucks.
I'm planning on selling this for $100. If your interested message me.
