Well, to make a server, you go to Minecraft.net and click to download the game. There should be something at the bottom of the page to download a server. To play on a server, click the multiplayer option on the main menu, but you have to have the server IP.

Download the exe file for the sever. Put it in a folder, (mine's on the desktop) and run it. It should make some files. Open the Server.txt file and edit it. Also note: to STOP the server, type STOP. If you don't it wont stop.
