More of the theater. Easily among the top 10 most awesome abandoned things I've ever seen. Then again, I haven't seen many theaters either.

Well deffo worth it dude, these look amazing, you must have some mint sites around your locale, all my relatively local ones you need a car o get to and then there is no guarantee you will get in, so much criminal damage takes place at the sites around me they are always getting more and more impenetrable either that or they're getting demolished, one of my fav walking distance ones is the abandoned Maltsters it's only the one building now but the gypsies moved on. i'd love to do a theatre but the ones i've found are always up tight and monitered
I've only gotten as heavy into urbex as I am in the past 2 years, but even in that short time a lot of my favorite spots are getting more and more heavily locked down. I imagine it has to do with the fact that the hobby has gotten a bit more mainstream as its popularity has caught on. That and a few of the spots I used to frequent wound up on TV shows like Ghost Hunters, Abandoned, etc. Lameness, totally.
Everywhere I go requires a drive, but so does anywhere worth going in the States. Standard MO is to park a good mile away and walk the rest of the way - helps to allay suspicion. Plus, parking in front makes it that much easier for the cops to arrest you. Been arrested doing urbex once already, never again. I'm so against getting arrested again that I've even mastered the art of dodging police choppers. Granted, I doubt that chopper was there for me to begin with, but it's fun to tout that as my most badass escape. Oh man, but the true stories are many and just as wild. K-9 sweeps, property owners with shotguns, 3.5 hours spent hiding in elevator maintenance rooms... NEVER GETTING CAUGHT AGAIN. :P

Slightly milder here the worst thing around me i heard on the forums was someone getting all their tyres slashed at an Abandoned Asylum by an angry Local, an asylum which i've been to hehe luckily that was last year so we avoided the tyre slasher and firearms are somewhat rare in the UK. The worst that has happend to us was being asked rather unpleasantly to move on mind you the land owner was just as surprised to see us as we were o see him x3
Amazing you ever really see land owners. The one guy with the shotgun was a fluke for me, but being as most abandoned properties here are State owned you never really see anyone there but random police patrols. At least that's all that is ever predictably encountered.
