seriously, this show...
Anyway. Because I like collecting figures, I jumped at the chance of buying these guys because compared to most of my collectables, Ponies are relatively cheap (thank you Walmart!).
But the HAIR. THOSE HIDEOUS HAIR STYLES.
Good thing for the "Bad Mane Days" tutorial on deviantart, I've managed to pretty these ponies up a bit and make them actually look like their show counterparts. I followed each tutorial loosely, some parts just didn't work properly, or my ponies didn't actually have a hair line just for bangs like the ones in the tutorial. I also relocated a lot of cut off hair (specifically for Rainbow Dash's mane, and AJ's bangs). woo.
Just need to make AJ a hat.
This is as far as I go, no more room on the shelf anyway. C:

I think out of all of them--since hair, well...you can style that at least without ruining your figurine or going full-blown custom--TS and Rarity pissed me off the most. Twilight's color is so off, and Rarity...DOES NOT...have streaks in her hair. That color is kind of sort of maybe used for shading somewhere in there, sort of kind of? RAGE.
I still don't know why they made most of the Celestias pink. :(

And yeah, I agree completely. I could understand the shading bit for Rarity, but everything else was like. OH GOD WHY. Celestia is definitely something that made me scratch my head. At least they've got newer ones coming out, I think, and LUNA! :D I may have to add those two to my collection if I ever see them up here.
