And here, finally, is the color version.
This was actually completed before Christmas, but, between seeing my folks, work, cleaning up the apartment and waiting to see what the commissioner thought of it, it was a while before I could finally get to upload it here.
Anyway, hope you folks like it.

It seems that out of the main six, the only one who can really pull off dressing up as Nightmare Moon is Twilight, and that's probably mainly due to her colour scheme.
For some feedback on the actual artwork, all I have to say is "do something to make the bloody watermark less intrusive!"

Now I have the idea of Ponyville's school putting on a play about Nightmare Moon's return, with Twilight playing Nightmare Moon. Why have the school doing it? Well, compared to the fillies, an adult pony would have a similar proportional size to comparing Nightmare Moon to adult ponies.
Here are a couple of ideas about the watermark:
1. Put the watermark on a layer below the characters so the watermark appears in the spaces between them (would only work for images with a lot of whitespace).
2. Do what every TV station has done for the last several decades and just put a small watermark in one of the corners of the image.
