Wow. Amazing shadows from the muzzle flash. How do you figure out the geometry of all that lighting?

well if it had to do with geometry I probably would of never figured it out LoL.Its actuly a combination of thins first I did a search on Muzzle flashes to see how they generally light forms what things leave shadows when some one shoots. Then drew the shadows on the form, trying to match the specific objects like the stand he's holding and the ammo box.
