Well what ta say...
Didn't want to submit this really, as the title says it's supposed to be the cover of my upcoming 2007er Sketchbook which's theme and name is "Truly Yours" And I normally keep my sketchbook covers secret until I print them out (and I don't think it's that nice overall...), anyways, painted this in the last 4 hours, roughly can be less or more since I did quite a lot besides. The book will be puplished in let's say October or later, since I am still collecting sketches and it supposed to show the full 2007 range and we have "only" August now. (since some asked a little preview of the cover on a template: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i....._preview02.jpg ) also can't tell how many pages it will have, but it won't be A4, it will be much smaller something around 12-15 cm hight, standard booklet size.
So back to the pic, the initial thought behind comes from really close friends, and one of the most beloved objects I ever owned XD (guess what) As for the Transformers Theme, I am not into this stuff lately and never really was (I just like the thought of cars with personality... LOTS), except sketches this will be one of the last pieces of that type, (why telling that? Because people tend to ask me if I am going to be a official geek now and will only be drawing this theme from now one... and that really annoys me, why can't artists just draw what they are up to in the moment??? .. People call me a Freak anyways XD)
Well so this is Chrome (the metallic gryphon spirit which is actuallly on the vinyl decal as well as you can recognise on his tail) and SilverSide, and because people were asking as well, shots of my "real" car with the "real" vinyl! : http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i.....lage_new02.jpg
also the only reference I had...
and those who are interested in painting techniques, I made a flash of the painting steps, which can be viewed here: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i.....g_of_steps.swf
well, all in all based on a very rough sketch and completed in Photoshop... well was fun XD and a very good training...
EDIT: forgot to enable one layer ... oops

I'll have to look that version up...but it was definetly not a Corsa I recognised.
btw...car guy (no matter the genger) info. America is now getting Opels back. they have converted the Omega, Vectra, and a crossover I can't remember the name of to the American market. mostly as our "import beater" General Motors label "Saturn". the Astra is on it's way to the US with only the Logo changed, I hear

Actually yes, they go for the name "Saturn" now, (though I watched a report lately, were they wanted to go for the "world-name" Opel, because it has "Prestige" somehow, and stand's for a german brand, though they ended up with not taking it for all the types, now there is Saturn, Holden, Vauxhall and Opel outta there *sigh* and all are generally the same modells.) This Corsa "C" type isn't available anymore, since the "D" is out yet, and it's not the base "C" modell at all, it's a facelift, so like a touched Design, specialiced for the european market ;) I bet there isn't even one of that outta europe at all.
"c" must be the "body designation"...or is that C as in Comfort?
*smirk* get ahold of yourself a copy of GT4 to play with a few Opels. the vectra in there does NOT impress me :P
I doubt very much they'll haul the Opel name out of mothballs for the US...the last european maker that isn't rich or goes meep-meep(VAG) that pulled out was Peugeot. thanks to lemonized lemons like pre-Goshen Renaults.

"C" is simple the type-name ;) just as 207 for Peugeot or XK8 at Jaguar's, there was a Corsa "A", "B", "C" and now a "D" already, they just use the letters to define the type and the yearly outcome (no idea if that is called this way in english XD) the add-on "edition" is actually what stand's for comfort or similar things. My dad drives a Vectra GTS, as well as I did in the past, not my taste of car really, I am more the one who likes the small and fast "hoppers" (english word for "Hüpfer" just how we call these cars here) I actually don't mind if they change their brand name at all XD I just love the current Opel logo really... just nice, that's the main reason why I hoped for a world-name for the "pseudo" Opelzzz. Anyways, I love my little boy, the only car I ever owned which could manage to drive over 100 kilometers with less than 5,1 liters of Diesel ;)
