So how does one build a model on SL? External programs, or through the game's engine? (i hope it's external/offline, because dialup doesn't handle SL very well :( )

actually you can model in sl for free, which is a gigantic pain in the ass.

OR

You can use maya or sculptypaint (yay 3d progs) and upload yer files for 10L each. I prefer this method because I'm not restricted with what I model.
