FEATURING:
FallenFeathers's - Lance
Mr. O'Ducky had a faithful birdy buddy he worked with named Lance who was kind enough to watch Yosh every so often when the family couldn't find a sitter otherwise.
Although Lance was not a daddy or experienced with kiddos like the other folks who watched Yosh, he did strive to do his absolute best. After all, as he'd put it, "Nesting and caring for little ones is second nature to a bird, right?"
After a full night of pretty much letting Yosh do whatever he wanted, Lance realized he probably should get the little guy to bed. He also realized someone probably could use a change of diaper, too, as Yosh's was sogging and swaying up a storm. Yosh didn't seem to mind, though, so that is why Lance never thought to do anything beforehand. As long as they're not crying, kids are happy, right?
Catching up to Yosh in his room, Lance goes about taking the oversaturated diaper off the little dino-duck who, as he does, promptly begins to fuss. Remembering those things he saw other mommies and daddies do, Lance quickly picked up Yosh and snuggled him into his chest while humming the sweetest of melodies he could. In this case the last song he had heard on the radio before coming home that day.
Whether it was song, his super soft feathery down, rocking, or all three, Yosh quicly calmed down. He not only calmed down, he fell asleep!
Worried to wake the little guy, as waking babies is no good, Lance thought it best to lie down on his bed and get comfortable with little Yosh. As he did, he couldn't help but feel paternal instincts swarm over him as he gently rubbed at Yosh's head, back, tail, and rump. It was actually a much sweeter and wonderful experience than he'd ever thought it could be.
By the time Mr. O'Ducky made it by to pick up his son, Yosh was deep in slumber and tucked snugly into Lance's feathery down with Lance still gently carassing him in an almost rhythmatic pattern.
Mr. O'Ducky almost hated to take his son away from Lance. Especially as Lance was more known for wild parties than being a cuddle bug. However, duty called and certainly Lance had better things to do than snuggle a baby dino-duck for an entire Friday night, right?

I'm sad to hear your holiday wasn't very fun, Ozzie. I do hope you get to feeling better soon.
As for rest, there's nothing more delightfully for a cubby than plenty of it with lots of caring hugs and snugs. Nothing makes the yuckies go away more than a bed filled with plushies and a soft, padded bottom under lots of cozy sheets. :)
Be well and here's to 2012 being healthier and happier for us all. *Hugs*

I'm super happy you liked how this came out, Tippie. I really was going for the inexperienced sitter who wanted to do his absolute best while proving he was super good by just being himself.
It's neat how kids can kind of sense good and evil. When one is able to not fuss and fall asleep in your arms it's like their way of saying, "You're nice and I trust you to love me." At such a vulnerable age, it's hard to not feel your heart melt when you get such a vote of confidence.
Here's to good times, Tippie. I'm glad you are sharing your warmth and love everywhere you go. *Huggles*
