In 1986 I was the keyboardist in the rock band The Bogartz along with J.T. The time came for new songs, and the two of us wrote this reggae-flavoured song together.
When the time came to perform the song for the first time in public, at Madam Wong's West in Santa Monica, we used a drum machine to keep the beat, and our drummer added extra fills. Unfortunately, we could not all hear the drum machine that well, and ended up getting out of sync with it during the performance. That didn't matter to our fans - they loved this song anyway!
Performed on Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, Roland drum machine, wah pedal, effects boxes, my voice, and Tascam Porta-1 4-track tape recorder. Best listened to with headphones.
