Here's my third finished model, my second commission - made for
Razor14150 I think he turned out rather cute - it took a while, though!
I found this project to be somewhat challenging. There were a number of factors:
-Firstly, it's been really hot lately, so my clay goes very soft very fast. This is not ideal because it makes the clay more supple, causing it to sag and go waxy. It makes it a lot harder to keep in shape and to create the right consistency. Not to mention sweaty paws...
-Secondly, because this is a character which I do not know, I had to constantly go back to my reference and check that it was right. A lot of the time I made mistakes and had to go back to the reference to fix it. Next time I should print the ref or build in front of my laptop so I avoid this problem.
-My two biggest issues with the body were the wings and the tail. I had trouble making the right shape for the winds, and also the right thickness so they maintained shape and stayed attached. The tail's pattern was rather hard, as I couldn't make the lines thin enough, so it's not very accurate. Also, I'm pretty sure I made the diaper way too big at the back. But I can fix that later.
I may have to do a bit of editing on this one...but perhaps when it's a bit cooler.
Let me know what you think! More photos to come.
