The Level 6 theme of Axelay, re-arranged in SNES style without "overproducing" it too much.
I somehow missed to upload the final mix in december. So this will be my entry for 2012. Hope you like it.

Oh absolutely!! Konami did some kickass soundtracks these days. They did squeeze some awesome stuff out of the SNES music chip. You knew that the soundtrack had actually an even deeper impression on me when i saw that game for the first time? Even days and weeks later i was still thinking of the soundtrack and was re-playing it inside my head and was always excited when my dad's old army buddy came visiting us and bringing that game with him. And it was when it was still brand new
It's amazing how the soundtrack of a certain game can have an effect on you. I remember hearing the music from Sonic CD for the first time, a friend of mine brought an audio tape round to my house and he was like, "Listen to this if you like Sonic so much!" Then i played the game and it's still my favourite Sonic game all these years later! If the music fits then it makes you want to play it all the more.
Ah yes!! My uncle got his Mega CD in 1995 and had Sonic CD already before his MegaCD arrived. I was soooo curious for the animated opening video because at that time i was a sonic crazy bastard back then ^^ had (still have) a sonic Plushy, a complete Pin-set in a box and loads of comics that were released every month. And i wanted to see a cartoon show of my favorite videogame hero. So getting in touch with the soundtrack was all natural and it blew me away. It was the soundtrack of my summer vacation 1995 ^^ 4 years later, i was at a videogame market for old and new games together with my dad, i bought my own Mega CD and all the games my uncle had and since then i had my own copies. And of course Sonic CD was one of the first 2 titles i instantly bought there. Oh boy.... extreme retro-memories-smiling now
