I guess if you know abhorence you shouldve thrown this into at least three chapters anyway, for once with more focus on the trial and shaman. for example a fourth chapter couldve included the fate of his brother who was not only reclusive and secretely hurt, but scorned, who wouldnt just sit with his parents after what he did, making up his own perspective, no matter how horrible.
still like it, the general moral sounds more than usable.
