This is a commission I did for
darrylwolf recently. I don't usually do full-body badges, since it is always hard to fit so much into such a small space, (plus work in a background and a name!) but the client really wanted to show off his skateboarding skills, so I decided to make an exception.
I really like the action shot here!

Heh heh, he must be an awfully talented skateboarder to go with no skate shoes one! Even with paw pads, I don't think there is enough grip. And looks like he's at the top of a bowl or half pipe too, so would be even harder! When I was younger and did that when it was the 'cool' thing to do because of the Tony Hawk game on the PS1, I tried doing a kick flip on without any shoes on, didn't work out too well :)
But crouching down like like is a good way to get a full body shot without having to squish the body in there. I really do like that. Good job though, I really do like your badges and how colorful they always seem to turn out. I will just have to remember that at the next con I go to, I'll have to not throw so much money to others so I can throw it to you for a badge, eh heh.
(Just started to move and my mom spent like a half hour digging through my HeroClix, aha!)

Thank you for the kind words! I don't know a lot about skateboarding, but still wanted to draw something that showed how cool it was without getting too technical. I don't even know if judges held up signs with scores...it just seemed an easy shorthand to tell the viewer how well Darryl was doing..
Yes, please keep me in mind for art at your next con! I love to do colorful badges!

I just figured that at my first con, I should have spread my money all over the place, which I did a very good job at, aha. And hey, you did get some of it anyways, so it's all good in that regard =p
I wasn't very good when I was kid either way though. Why I stopped. I didn't want to be a good painter at painting the pavement red, aha.
I don't know if they do either, heh heh. I just played the video games and pretended that I was good, even if it meant playing as Wolverine and Darth Maul.
