Photography has been a lifelong passion for me and this was a moment which helped to remind me of why that is. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to photograph this beauty. I have had many people ask me about what lens I used, thinking that this shot was the result of a telephoto of some kind. In truth, she was as close to my camera as you are now to your monitor. The title of the piece resulted from what her sleeping countenance conveyed, serenity. I have since been able to display this tigress' beauty at several shows, and this last summer she found a home from a bidder at Anthrocon. Though I have retired this piece from the art show circuit, her sister has a place resting in my family room and never fails to evoke that same sense of serenity in me as the subject had done so years ago.
