Do you use a glass carboy for secondary fermentation or do you go plastic for the entire process?

And also, what style ale is in there?

nah it's a single fermented continental pilsner. It's my first batch so I'm not getting to deep into it yet. But in time I will be investing in a 6 or 7 gallon glass carboy. I take it you know something about homebrew then?

heh, yeah, I'm a bit of a beer dork.

Actually, it's alot more than a bit, beer is kind of a passion of mine.

I have a special chocolate stout about ready to bottle, when I get around to it. One of the great things about a stout is they can sit for a very very long time and they just keep getting better.

so I've heard, and you know it'll be better than just about any other beer you can buy in a store. that's the aspect I like, no more "piss american" lager for me

Dont swear yourself off buying beer altogether though, there are so many wonderful brewing companies out there to try, and many of them are american, look up Stone, Dogfish Head, and Rogue just to name a few.

I know, I was refering to budweiser, coors, and miller mostly. Ever try Dragon's milk? I kinda like it.

Haven;t tried that one yet, though I have seen a recipie called Dragon's milk, it was a barley wine

the dragon's milk I know of is dark ale aged in sherry barrels. it's nearly $8 a bottle, I;ve a picture of it in the next photo

Maybe, or I might look into either engraved/sandblasted or pained on. Depends on which is cheaper

They both sound expensive, but cool.

cassandrarising does etching(?) with a sandblaster on everythign from mirrors to empty beer bottles including a hip flask I gave her at AC this year. My only concern would be comprimising the structure of the bottle. One of my 22's blew up last night, my "Dragon's Milk Ale" bottle that I pulled from my "stockpile" of empty botles. It was a painted one so that says to me that if it can blow ethed bottles would be easier to burst.
