See this Milwaukee Road EMD SW1200 - -

Over her life she'd carry #1639, #616, #704 and #1209 as the Milwaukee would constantly rearrange its 'deck chairs' when new locomotives came on the property.

Here summer of 1991 #1209 sits dead at the SOO Shoreham shops, slowly being stripped, her fading paint an ugly false colour due to the film and camera I was using. Her original 'road' was long gone, absorbed into the SOO, which was slowly losing its identity to its parent, the CP.

Almost a decade later she's been loaded on a flatcar, the end seems near.

It's been a less than great year, and at times it looked like it might get worse.

But it looks like things are looking up.
