It took a couple of days, actually… My brain wasn't immediately hijacked by ponies. But within a week, I was buying episodes off of iTunes, and not long after that, they began to multiply on top of my desk, faster than rabbits. There's about 20 now, set among the tools of my trade, and various knives and ammunition scattered about my desk. I don't spend a lot of time brushing manes… I find the endeavor somewhat fruitless- the more you brush, the worse they tangle!
I have to say: To each their own. If you don't like the Ponies, fine. More power to you. A lot of people don't like 9mm. It doesn't keep me from carrying one on my hip.
For me, life just began to suck less after I found the Ponies. The old ones still make me gag, of course- I haven't fallen THAT far…
I gave up a long time ago on trying to make everyone happy. Even Pinkie knows some people just aren't going to come around, no matter what. Chalk and Cheese.
Having said that, don't expect a bunch of Pony art from me. I draw my OWN characters, thank you very much. But know this: I love My Little Pony. Its a great show, with incredibly well written, subtle dialogue, amazing music, and likeable characters. It only occasionally gets corny, and even then, there is enough tongue in cheek to help balance things out.
It was a Godsend for me, because I had all but given up on my career in animation. Now, its back in full force, because I've seen what can be done in Flash, and it finally doesn't make me want to run away screaming. Most of all, it doesn't suck.
Sorry Bloo!!! :)

Yeah. I remember asking her what the posters were all about at Megaplex… The haters and the bronies seemed to be squaring off in some kind of bill posting battle. I had no idea WTF they were going on about. Then Rainbow Dash and Applejack showed up. I believe my response to the whole thing was to the effect of: "They still make those crappy things?" TB told mentioned the new show, and told me to at least have a look at an episode, so she sent me a link to one in the middle of season 1. That was in August or so…
She knew the shows I watched, and I trusted her opinion, so I decided to give it a chance. About 10 seconds in, I was already impressed with the animation. The dialogue was safe, but surprisingly complex and adult. They speak as adults would speak to one another! This alone was a notable departure from the insipid writing I have always had to suffer through in animation. They actually gave them personalities!!! WTF?!!!
At that point, I was hooked. Which kind of sucks, because I wanted to share with some of my other friends who are animation buffs. But its impossible for them to get past the name, and the pink ponies… Oh, well. I'd rather have them wondering about me, than to have missed out myself.

I had a Springfield Micro Compact I carried for a while. I absolutely LOVED that gun. I even bought her a nice set of Hogue special custom fingergrip cocobolo slabs. I qualified one handed with my Left arm in a cast for my CCW with that one.
Unfortunately, it let me down every time I loaded it with anything other than range reloads. Couldn't get more than 2 rounds to cycle, and even after a trip back to Springfield, and then Cylinder and Slide, it simply wouldn't run reliably. I bought an HK P2000 used, and have yet to experience a problem. Its too bad- I really loved that .45. I was extremely accurate with it as well.
I still have the grips. Maybe someday…

did you ever have the reciever, and chanber polished? Thats always been a problem with 1911's and clones when trying to run hollow points. I had the same problem with mine at first but once i polished and fluted the chamber I have never had a problem since. Only use hollow points in my guns as they tipicaly don't do a through and through and possible hit someone else.
Yeah, even had it set up by Springfield custom and the smiths at C&S for my ammo of choice- to no avail. :( I'm kind of uncompromising when it comes to my carry stuff. If it craps out- even once- I don't like to use it. Because God knows, things will always screw you over at the worst possible moment if they can. I've had enough bad dreams about my sidearm failing in the heat of battle to have it happen in real life…
I'm afraid I'm not immune to awesomeness. I'm just glad I caught on to it reasonably early. MLP is WAY better than the last show I was super attached to: PB&J Otter. I don't miss it as much anymore. I have even stopped looking anymore for a DVD release. I just don't care anymore.
I just don't bother with Disney anymore. All they make now is crap. Same old tired jokes, same old one dimensional characters. My Little Pony only serves to highlight that fact further. I don't even bother to go to their movies anymore. The other studios surpassed them years ago, and they haven't looked back.

I don't care for either. Really, the only cartoon that's caught my attention and ALL MY LOVE is Regular Show.
I tried watching MLP, but it just didn't appeal to me. I will say this, however: I *LOVE* the stuff people make with the material from the show, especially youtube poops. Some of the funniest YTPs have involved that show. I don't actively hate the show, I just don't care for it that much. It's got some good parts and some funny moments, but overall, it felt kinda dull to me. Maybe it was just the episode that I watched, I dunno. Overall, it just didn't seem to appeal to me.
Regarding Disney, god, I lost faith in them YEARS ago. Makes me sad. They used to make such great stuff. I remember growing up watching TailSpin, DuckTales, and all that good stuff. Damned corporations.

id like to say i have had the same ...thing happen to me at lest with ponies no job no money 6k in debt people calling my house every day to collect bills police coming to my house every other day to remind me if they see my car on the street it will be towed for the tickets owed on it about to be homeless my family would not even talk to me...i just felt so hopeless.. i let every thing slip away from me.. then i saw this MLP stuff every where and thought why not it could not be as bad as the old show. i felt happy and warm like all is not lost. now i got a job and food and pay for things again i am even getting back to art and making things... is there any thing ponies cant fix
really love your art glad to see your back and drawing again

S'ok x3 I can respect anyone that gives a well thought-out, good argument. And hey, to each their own!
To be honest, as far as kids shows go it's -awesome-. 90% of the stuff they have on TV now is really blech for kids. This one stands out of that. I'll give it that much after several friends sat me down and forced me to watch an episode. I'm just so sick of seeing all the brony stuff -everywhere- x.x

Yeah, its a bit awkward for me, being part of something that is actually somewhat popular… I'd have to say, the quality of the fandom's output is really surprising- there is a lot of high end talent focusing on these little ponies.
Then, there is some REAL crap. It seems there is an innate need for some people to create horrific things from the innocent, and unfortunately, they seem to be highly visible.
I just can't remember when a show has had the ability to make me this happy- in a long time. But like I said: I wont be putting a bunch of ponies up here. I have more than enough stories of my own to tell, and creating characters is Easy for me. Its kind of what I do… No need to borrow from somewhere else. I'll probably do that Fluttershy comic I have written though… Its pretty emotional, and as everyone knows- that's kind of my thing.
She's just so… Cuuuuuute…

As long as you're happy mate =P I see too much sad work. Also, yeah... there's nothing quite like waking up and cheerfully saying "I'm gonna check my FA! Maybe there's a nice pic for me to see!" and then finding really poorly drawn pony porn T_T
Actually, I can only think of one show that's gathered a following like that- Pokemon. There are a LOT of pokefurs out there.

You will certainly find no pony porn on my page. Personally, I don't find them attractive in that way- at all. But yeah, there is a whole shitload of poorly drawn pony out there. But there is some incredibly excellent work as well. Doesn't mean we have to start using the shitty work as an excuse to hate the genre.
If I had done that, I would have given up on furry art altogether a LONG time ago. The majority of what I see, up here, and elsewhere- is crap. I pretty much limit my pony watching to EqD.

True~ But good or bad work, if you're constantly exposed to something that you're not into one of two things happen: Either you start to grow an interest in it and you start enjoying it, or you grow to really dislike it. With my steam, FA and even my Skype bombarded with ponies and people who are very in your face "You don't like Pony? What's wrong with you?" the latter has occurred for me. I'm glad you enjoy it and hey, seeing you smile and hearing that you're invigorated to do more art and animation is awesome! If Ponies do that for you, very cool. I'm sure people look on at us babyfurs and cubs and think the exact same thing. =P A lil tolerance goes a long way.
...and yeah, there are some pretty hideous furry pics out there xD; some so bad they've reached meme level.

Well, I'm just chock full of anachronisms. I've had a CCW for a long time now- my favorite choice being one of my (many) knives, but when I'm packing more modern, I carry an HK P2000 full size 9mm- No safety, LEM trigger variant single/double action with full restrike capability (unlike a Glock), and a hammer so I can see what's going on… It has NEVER failed to function flawlessly.
Something I cannot say about any of the others I have owned.
The new XDm .45 compact has my eye, though…
But usually, I just carry a really nasty Emerson Karambit. A lot faster to deploy CQC. Keep you busy with my left hand while disemboweling or severing the quadriceps muscle with the right. Its a remarkably effective and devastating tool. Better than a gun most of the time, and a lot less hassle. Hurts like Hell, too.

Well, I'm not going to try to be "nice" when (if) someone is trying to do me or a loved one harm. Not something I take lightly, this. They would be hurt, and hurt badly. The idea is to end the fight quickly, and safely with whatever tools you have at hand… and above all, to survive.
I'm somewhat tepidly started delving into Friendship Is Magic as well a few weeks ago, I would not have expected what has occurred.
I'm now 28 shows in and counting.
I've stopped using my normal character on Second Life and have a Pony that I've been enjoying quite a bit.

When I see stuff like this, I feel a seething rage for all the trolls. This show has brought people out of depression, given birth to an open, accepting community in which everyone is welcome, inspired tons of fantastic music and art, raised money for various charities, and restored my faith in the future of Western Animation (a lot of which has been going down hill lately), and they still think it's a 'curse on mankind'.
Welcome to the herd fellow brony. /)

I love the haters. My boss is a hater, and one of my favorite things is to show up to work wearing another MLP shirt. As a colleague, his opinion matters to me, and I value it, but I can never understand his constant need to be seen as some kind of super adult. He is one of the least adult adults I know- like a spoiled child much of the time. I can't wait for him to see my bitchin' Fluttershy tattoo…
I'm hoping for the actual shitting of a brick. :)
