A cottontail rabbit munches on some clover in Ottertail County, MN, probably Sept 1991.
Likely taken with a no-name 'FREE' 35mm camera with 4 aperture settings and a fixed focus lens.

Although we have hares here, with the biggest ears I ever recall seeing. They are not like the more compact cottontail rabbits I grew up with and am fond of. Plus I don't see the local hares other than in the very early morning hours ( 3 to 4am-ish ) whereas I would see cottontails in Minnesota at any time of day. Although evening around sunset was the most common time I would see 2 or 3 on the lawn.
I also fondly remember the delight I'd feel to see their prints in fresh snow.
Scanned from a Kodak Gold 400 print negative.
