Let's see... A South American species of "Wolf" spider? Are they venomous?

i don`t have idea...here are called "araña pollito" and they like jump over you if consider you as a menace XD

i`m sorrounded by them all summers since 33 years ago, so surely aren`t venomous x3

En nuestro país esa especie de araña es un poco más grande (de un diámetro de 5,8 Cms.) Pero la variedad que habita acá en Paraguay si son venenosas. .

De verdad, en serio, ve uno semejante criatura y mínimo clasifica para Londres 2014! Acá en Barranquilla lo que tenemos son escolopendras de 36 cms. Definición mía de esa crituta: Cienpiés con esteroides.

Ugh, lo que mencionas suena grotezco, ya de paso detesto los cienpiés tanto como las arañas; 36 cms de eso me infartan el miocardio x3

Y hasta el suyocardio! Su picada no es mortal, pero sí muy dolorosa. El miefo mío es más porque puedan picar a mi gatos.

They aren't really dangerous to humans. The only real South American spider that would be a threat would be the Brazilian Wandering Spider, and thankfully this is not one of those. It's colors are certainly striking though, it's a very interesting spider and really does look like a wolf spider. I've heard that araña pollito refers to a species of tarantula, but apparenty it's an interchangeable name with a few spiders down there. I'll do some more research and see if i can't nail down exactly what this one is.

I like certain spiders. I don't like Widows, or really the spiders with the legs that remind you of daggers or needles. I like the hairy variety of spiders more than the not-so-hairy ones. I'm a big fan of scorpions though. Brazilian Wandering Spiders and the Sydney Funnel Web especially however are two spiders I'd never want to be anywhere near o.o
