So, here it is! The character I intend to make into a new comic series. It will take a lot of work (and likely a LOT of time, as it's really my first), but I think it will be worth it. Please give a favorite, watch, and comment if you agree!
Cynthia is a very rare bat in the world. Unlike her entire family... unlike every bat she's ever known or heard of, Cynthia was born with no wings. She is an anomaly that her family doesn't understand. But the unusual circumstances of her birth has never gotten her down.
Though lacking in wings, Cynthia is in every other way a healthy, happy bat. She is extremely intelligent, very imaginative, athletic, and like all bats, has exceptional hearing.
The circumstances of her birth are chocked up to a medical anomaly, but perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye...

Ohhhh! thank you so much for that. I am already beginning to pencil the very first few frames of the first couple of pages, so every bit of encouragement and support is really helpful for me in doing so. Trying a full comic is kind of intimidating, but I really want to try.
I was actually back-and-forth with myself on what color I wanted to make the dress. I settled on this because... simply... I love that shade of blue, and think it complements her glasses (and by contrast, her eyes, as well).
Keep an eye out. Not sure how quickly or slowly this will start to roll along, but I've already made plans for it!

I'm inclined to agree. I'm very excited to try a variety of different things with her. Fair warning though: red is an extremely eye-catching color, and very showy for a girl to wear on a dress. Expect that if you see her in a red dress, it'll be for a special occasion. ;)

WONDERFUL work on perspective here, too! I suck at perspective it takes me FOREVER to make it look... remotely right hahaha XD wow.

I'm already penciling in the first little episode of this comic, and am very much looking forward to seeing what I can make of it. I'm already very excited at this strange new challenge, and I can't wait to see it through.
Cynthia is indeed a fruit bat. She has a small tail, but it's usually concealed when she wears dresses (it's shown off in pants, generally).
I'm extremely proud of the perspective and hand positioning on this. I am really practicing and working on being consistently good with it all. Shading on this tablet is a bloody pain, since color selecting (highlighting everything of a similar color) lags the system out something fierce. But... meh, only 5 days to go.
I'm beginning to think that the dress is the boldest part of this picture, which is actually a pleasing thought to me. I love that shade of blue very much, and knew when I tried it out on her that it would look great on her.

Oh, my god... we have the same favorite shade of blue. I've always found that shade to be my favorite color whenever I was a little kid and opening a box of crayons. I would make excuses for cerulean to be used in it.
