i'm sure you'll do just fine. with practice the techniques will eventually come :). yeah the trees are kinda tim burtonish to me anyway which is probably why i love them so much. really fluid trees make me so happy <3

Dont feel you can't do backgrounds, because you totally can! I used to despise and LOATHE drawing backgrounds, especially trees a few years ago, but I urged myself to improve because I'm learning game concept art, and I know I will have to go outside of my comfort zone, so it never hurts to try! It gets easier after you try different background styles and find a way that's comfortable for you. Then it becomes more fun rather than a chore. /Ramble ramble ramble...

Wow, the background on this is so beautiful! You did such a wonderful job rendering the twisting, barked trees. I like that it's just a touch of background as opposed to a full forest; it allows more focus on Moth and gives it a fresh look. I really like Moth's ears and her kind of "sheen." This is such a pretty, bright image!

I usually avoid doing backgrounds myself haha, takes too much damn time D: but its good that you try and do stuff you normally don't do and we can get great pics like this one X3 and yes that yankee candle scent is one of my favs too
