I'm not fond of that convention, i usually keep the line for centaurs strictly at the waist. I don't really like the idea of giving them ape or horse-like features to the human half, but some it's valid to some people.
Yeah he is kinda elfish, I usually give pointed ears to anything in the forest, I'm not entirely sure why.
