Brushed yarn? How do you even to begin to hair a sculpture with that?

It took quite a while. First I brushed the yarn and straightened it a little then I made tufts then brushed out all of the loose fibers and cut the tuft in half to make 2 tufts with straight roots on one side and fuzzy hair ends on the other. Apply with tacky glue and let dry. It doesn't look super realistic but I thought it would suit the semi-realistic nature of the sculpt. I will have some better pictures of the finished sculpt. The feathers aren't so outrageous on the completed piece.

Huh. So you just, more or less, glue it to the sculpture. It doesn't get rooted in or anything? That's pretty neat.

No, rooting, just very careful and specific application. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/scenceable/ has a tutorial that i followed for this except my mane is acrylic and hers is real hair.
