Dediée a Monsieur le Dauphin

Second thing I worked on in the rare spare time I had this Christmas season. My mum is quite indophile and redesigned her private room in that style. So as a gift I know I would succeed most probably I made her a historic map of the Indian subcontinent.
You see the empire of the Great Mogul, the free Hindu kingdoms in the south and the European spheres of control (Dutch in Ceylon, British in Bombay, Calcutta and others and French in Pondichery and Chandarnagar).
Portraits from left above to right below: The Mogul, the Maratha Peschwar, Sir Clive of the British EIC and Marquis de Dupleix, governor of Pondichery.
All names are historical if they had been changed during the Indian Independence.

Well, the New Wold would be quite a task, very interesting though. But I spent way too much time with this one and it somehow drain my energies more then I wanted... so I doubt I will make one in the near future, I don't have the time anyway (university and stuff).
Okay vielleicht wird mein Post dieser Arbeit nicht gerecht, daher ein wenig ausführlicher:
Ich habe wahrlich nicht mit dieser Detailliebe gerechnet, noch dazu die ganzen schönen Verzierungen obendrauf, insbesondere die vier Charakterporträts in den Kartenecken, das ist dir wirklich super gelungen und muss eine Wahnsinnsarbeit gewesen sein! Meinen Respekt, ehrlich :D
