Here was a piece of art I commissioned from the talented Lyron known here in FA as
Arctic_Ermine
I am very happy how this came out. I got the idea from a stick figure pencil sketch someone at the pub drew on a cocktail napkin. I thought it was very funny so I had to have it anthropomorphitized. If that is not a word, it is now.
For those that are not musicians or do not get the joke I will explain:
*Spoiler Alert* This is comedy taking from the classic TV cop line of "Stop your Under Arrest". But I changed it for the musical world. Picture this: a session group is in full swing performing traditional irish music and having a fun time, then a "rest" comes in the music we are performing. A rest is when you stop playing any music for a second or longer depending on the length of the rest. In the picture the Okapi (me) decided to not play by the music and I'm still playing away on my Bodhran and disturbing the other musicians. Which ironically is exactly what most Bodhran players do anyway. So this is a little jab at self deprecating humor too.
This music above us is an actual piece from one of my favorite Irish Reels that we perform regularly. It is called "Music from a Found Harmonium". I love that tune and can pick it out from a set list of other tunes within the third note. If you are not familiar with the name, you might know a movie it was played in. Ever watch "Napoleon Dynamite"? This was the end scene and credits music as the movie ended.
I'm sharing this to you all, if you like it, please hit up the artist
Arctic_Ermine and commission some stuff. The pricing is very reasonable and the turn around time from commission to completion is amazingly fast. A very nice person too.

(I wish I could speak this in my Irish brogue, but you'll just have to imagine it...)
One day, long ago, man walked into a bar in Dublin carrying a suspicious-looking package.
The bartender turns to the man and asks, "What do you have in the package, lad?"
The man looks around, and whispers, "Twenty pounds of the cordite! I'm going to blow up the police station!"
The bartender says, "Oh, praise Jesus! I thought it was a bodhran!"
