Possibly the zenith of diesel-electric locomotive design is General Electric's ES44 "Evolution Series". Canadian Pacific Railway rosters hundreds of them, and one (CPR ES44AC #8881) is seen here sitting in Galewood Yard, on the far west side of Chicago, waiting to proceed onto the former Milwaukee Road main line with its train. Appropriately enough, the water tower behind it is part of what used to be the Zenith television plant.
