The Tai Chi retreat was held at La Casa De Maria in Montecito, California. Each morning, one of the cats would curl up and sleep in a specific spot in the fallen oak leaves.
I forgot my notebook one morning, and ran back to my room to get it. On the way back, I quickly sketched the sleeping cat before returning to the class.

Actually, the cat and I had already reached an understanding. (I know how to express ''I trust you'' to cats.)
The cat did notice me, and opened its eyes and looked up, but I said ''I trust you'' again, and it went back to sleep.
Also, it didn't take me more than about 2 minutes to sketch it, since we were only on a short break time during our class.

LOL! Funny...usually I would show the animal the drawing! But that hadn't occurred to me...so much was going on there!
Once I communicate the ''I trust you'' with a cat and it is reciprocated back to me, the cat trusts me. Not many humans know how to communicate this in cat language, so they always believe it is real. When the cat lifted its head, I did it again, and it went back to sleep.
