A three picture sequence drawn for
Jay Otter as a favour. Since Reiger was remade as an anthro and his old feral form was completely unused and I had a friend who was down in the dumps and hungry, so I offered him the canonical death of my previous RP character FOR KEEPS.
Of everything I have ever drawn, there is nothing that I regret more than this sequence. Sorry, Freaky, if you are reading this but I have my reasons.
1) This is another of my many failed gift drawings; while he appreciated it at the time he didn't pay back the favour (ie the non-monetary payment I requested) for it. and he actually got really mad at me when I tried to ask him for it and it put a huge strain on our friendship. don't worry! We both grew up into men and got over our childish misunderstanding.
2) There came a time when I left the vore community for good, no looking back. It happened when there was a huge anti-dragon movement within it of 'dragons should only be prey'. Not 'prey too' but 'only prey'. The artists started pumping out tons of pictures of dragons being humiliated and killed, and anyone that roleplayed a dragon (like I did) was harassed about it. Obviously, the reason they did it was a role-reversal sort of thing that the big always-pred creatures now had the tables turned on them. But this stuff made me REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE so I just shut up and sat still and waited for it to all blow over. Except they wouldn't let me do that. Arguments would break out all the time and the anti-dragon people would chime in using this sequence (and a few others I drew) as examples that I was in favour of them and their ideals. Months went by and this problem was still there and I felt too uncomfortable to draw vore and read those arguments so I just up and left. A little while later I stopped drawing altogether.
Uhhhhhhhhh... but don't let that stop you from enjoying this picture! I really enjoyed it when I was drawing it!

I draw about one dragon a year as prey, and maybe that many as preds. They aren't my favorite thing to draw. Despite this I've had some people react very strongly and angrily at a few pics of mine in which dragons get eaten. The biggest drama in my typically drama-free furry life is this one crazed dragon fan who was so annoyingly obsessed that he got himself banned from pretty much every place I go. Smart guy, but if your opinion did match his then as far as he was concerned you were objectively wrong and he'd write many a paragraph to explain this. He's the only person I have ever blocked on FA because he took to harrassing me whenever I posted a picture. He'd patiently explain that it was unrealistic for X to eat X, that I should draw more dragons and snakes and reptiles, etc. Very tiresome. 83
Then there's the whackjob who keeps spamming the little vore board I hang out on. I've been deleting his shit for a year and he keeps coming back with the copypasta. Some people are both obsessed AND stupid.
And I've had a few art trades go bad. You just have to get past it eventually, as you have with this series.

I can't remember that there was a specific group of people actively bashing dragons, but I have never really stayed up to date on any vore or furry forum. I remember there was a mental case on Eka's that gave Strega lot of trouble though. It is kinda strange, I draw dragons in the prey role very often, but I have never got any flak or angry messages about it. But I'm not drawing to hurt anyone and Im not the most active or known artist out there either so I think most of my stuff goes under the radar.
For a while finding people in the community who were open minded at all was like pulling teeth. I came in late in the game, and I'm generally not very particular about what I play. I'll do nearly anything, so I generally get along with folks when the mood to play strikes me.
But you know, I don't think anyone likes it when the other party is trying to force you into doing something. I much prefer to compromise, and if that's not enough for the other guy than screw him! RP isn't worth while if it's not fun for everyone involved.

Either ignore people like that or push them into their own websites that will fail.

I like seeing dragons as prey, but at the same time I dislike it, pretty contradictory and weird, guess its just the role-reversal I like, otherwise I dislike seeing dragons getting hurt/humilated/etc, I'm pretty touchy at times. But I do like this piece a lot, I do love unusual preds.
Ah jeesh... when I read what had happen back there I'm glad that I missed that time out. It raises personally a feeling for myself where I would say "Screw everything!" and live back in peace, I never understood why people come up with those stupid "Prey/Pred" only things for whole species (sub species not counted or self created species) but main species in general. Everyone has their own habits and likes and shouldn't be forced into a role they don't like.
Just reminds me at times why I hate life so much... it's not about life itself, but about the stupidness of a few that ruin the live for all of us.
