This really was a very fun picture. Once again the use of body modelling with sticks and shapes has helped a lot for positioning and proportion. I'm very glad I learned to always do this now.
The girl is a canine of some sort, but unspecified. Some sort of a shepherd/collie mix.
My girlfriend's favorite part of this picture is the crab. =)

yeah the shapes and sticks sketching really helps, I use that when I'm not free-handing things.
usually I just don't sketch at all... when I'm doing cartoons that is. when I actually take the time to do things sketches are good.
I could probably be a better artist had I learned the technique to begin with x.x;
onice work with the shading too~ I really like the simplicity of the shading in your work. it fits the current style well ^-^

I seriously want to get into drawing comics. I have this really great character for one in mind that I have drawn, but not uploaded yet (one of the big influx that I'm going to start scanning in on January 4th. I think the main thing that I'm wanting to work on first is being able to draw the same character the same way from multiple perspectives in an extended storyline. I have great ideas, but I also want to pace myself before diving in.
Oh, speaking of other styles, be sure to check out my newest pencil sketch (a squirrel), as well. =)

I have this really great character for one in mind that I have drawn, but not uploaded yet (one of the big influx that I'm going to start scanning in on January 4th. omg I think your style is PERFECT for comics <3 like serious.
aha that. It took me a lot of practice before I could manage to draw the same character in different perspectives. I could always make the character look the same, but perspective has always been very hard for me because I have trouble percieving perspective correctly in the real world...

but with enough practice, you should be able to pull it off quite well. :D

I think it's georgeous >w< more or less for the expression on the face... It shows emotion very well... like I see a lot of avatars that look really cool but just say... nothing.
idk I just really like ones that look good but also show expression and emotion, which yours does <33 SOOO my opinion is that it's fantastic >w< hehheee
