Did another pencil sketch last night, and I'm very happy with it. Nothing too drastic to say about this one. Just a picture of a squirrel. =)

it almost looks like an illustration from like a science text book or something 8D it's just so.... cute.

very nice detailing with the fur :3 and I especially like it's right hand paw. just the way you positioned it on the acorn looks very nice.
I always draw hands all weird when I try to draw them holding something <.>;;
especially something think like a sword handle, for example... /hmm I should probably practice that speaking of which////
oh I really like the wiskers on him too :D

Thank you so very much! =)
I would definitely like to see you draw some sword-wielding characters. I'm very fond of those sorts of things! (As if this weren't obvious.)
It's strange, drawing realistic pencil sketches is a completely different and unique activity to drawing characters in colored pictures. I am sometimes very startled at the realism in them sometimes. They are relatively easy and fun to draw, and I sometimes want to do them a lot more than I do. But I also feel like learning to draw unique characters from scratch as I do in my color pictures is a lot more challenging, rewarding, and necessary. I feel as though they do more for me in terms of my artistic education (though the pencil sketches are more instantly rewarding and educational in a different way), and seeing them come to life in full color with complete shading, often with full backgrounds, is a very fulfilling experience for me.
But now I digress. What I'm saying is, I love doing these realistic sketches, and I intend to do more as well as my standard cartoon drawings.

haha XD I'll have to draw something like that sometime then <3
ah yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I need to attempt some more realism sketches >.>;
It's been a while since I've done anything in any kind of pencil actually D8
in art it's definately important to draw different kinds of things, in different styles, and in different mediums :3
helps to broaden the skill and the learning <3
