This is a picture of a random eagle noble, no relation to my character D. Dan, in a stone coffin, in a tomb and with a wake in progress. Not entirely finished, lacking the floor, funeral decorations and other things that are laid in the coffin with the eagle in the vacant space. Also the others, if any, at the wake and the rest of the room. ^\/^.

Originally I was going to have it be a funeral procession with other eagle nobles carrying the stone coffin through the streets, then I realized that in such cases the coffin lid would be on as well and I wanted to have the eagle lord be visible. As such, I made it a wake instead. ^\/^.

I normally do not do any morbid scenes, but I always wanted to do a funeral scene ever since I first saw Episode III of Star Wars and the scene of Padme Amidala's funeral. It looked so epic for a funeral that I wanted to do one with an eagle lord for some time. First I wanted it to be the one for D. Dan's grandfather, but I don't want to kill him off so soon before I even get to draw him. LOL. ^\/^.
