So here it is... Many people were saying I should finish the cancan sketch that I did, and here's the end result!
And you know... aside from a few things that irk me about it, I think this is my favourite of my pictures so far...
Yes, it deserved a cheesy lit up background with Tasimmet written in a rather neon-sign-esque fashion.

If you're going to be a showgirl, m'dear, it pays to advertise! ;) Some advert!
Tassy, it's gorgeous, not only because the subject is so... hmm... Pretty? ...but your work is improving piece by piece. You managed to convey the movement in your body and make it both fluid and honest. I can believe that a good dancer would look just like that! Keep up the good work, my friend. :D
BTW, what's with the sparkly on your forward hand? It's the wrong finger for that kind of ring. But it's too prominent to just be random. Any significance? (Yeah, count on a mustelid to notice a sparkly.) ;)

The ring was actually inspired by the song I was listening to when drawing this. I have me a sparkly (a diamond ring from my dad for my high school Prom) but it's no where near that big.
The song that inspired the picture was "Sparking Diamonds" from the Moulin Rouge movie. It talks about materialistic desires, such as diamonds, and so the assorted jewellery came to be.
I myself am not much of an accessory person at all, but every good Cancan dancer needs their flashy things!

Given a cougar is technically a mountain lion, I can’t help but wonder if I should be staring at this as long as I am...
[Not that I’m staring by the way. #>.>#]
But going back into the picture here, I am...rather amazed by it. I mean the color scheme here is just...well, it’s the can can. You’d only have to have it be as vivid as you would. [And French. Of course, it also has to be French.]
I say this as I look at the background is vibrant and all with the spotlights. Well, I’m going to interpret them as spotlights here.
The huge feather hat there is cute in my personal opinion there. That and I seriously like how you drew the dress there. I mean you have the whole theme down and I happen to like the idea.
All and all, I can honestly tell you that I like the turn out to this oh Tassimet~

I absolutely love how this came out Tas. I'm envious of your skill with photoshop. If you don't mind me asking did you use a tablet for this? Or is there another method to your madness? -grin- I can't seem to ever get the hang of those tablets.. throws your hand eye coordination way off.
Thank you so much! I used a tablet for the colouring, and to edit the linework, but the drawing and inking was done on paper first.
Tablets are insane, and I definately know what you mean about it throwing off your hand-eye coordination! I've been using my tablet for almost two years now, so I've gotten a good feel for it. But when I started, I couldn't use it to save my life. It takes a lot of practice, and playing around, but eventually you develop the coordination for it, and it gets easier.
Now I wonder how I ever used to colour with a mouse!
