SO! As far as Star Trek fancharacters go, plunking Dodger in a uniform as-is doesn't make much sense. I decided to tweak her to fit in with a sci-fi setting better. Thus, alien!Dodger.

I went with a hybrid of a yet-uncontacted race of humanoid gryphons and a Romulan. I was always fond of Romulans. She takes after her gryphonic mother more, although her physiology is something of a mutated form of the gryphon-people--the longer, simian tail; the mammalian jaw; longer, more pointed ears; stunted wings (amputated at a very young age); and semi-opposable thumbs on the feet, similar to a monkey's paw.

Her behavior is largely Romulan, as she was abandoned by her mother while barely out of infancy and raised by her father. He father was something of a rogue, and was tossed out by the Romulan Empire for his antagonistic resistance to his people's rampant xenophobia.

And of course she's a Starfleet captain. I expect nothing less of my blatant self-inserts.

Her foot's broke and her arms are too long and I clearly have no concept of lighting. To hell with it.
