Lessee maya for the modeling, and I did texturing in Zbrush. The textures were applied to the actual fur to get the right colorations. The fur was rendered with maya software, so don't listen to anyone if they tell you, you have to use mental ray to make fur look good ; ) And then photoshop for some color stuffs as well, and shake for compositing.
