Every year I do a self portrait that represents what occurred to me the year previous. I don't really like this image so much as my scanner ate most of the shading and spat out this bright thing, and I hurried it far too much, but here it is. This is also the first year of drawing Gen as a fox instead of a feline. I got bored with the cat design and decided to switch.

In 2006 the theme for me seemed to be how metal becomes stronger the more you work it in the fires. It was a very hard year for me, but I came out of it a stronger person.

All the little quirks in the clothing and various things that represent events and people and influences. The black ribbon on her wrist and the suspenders symbolizes the death of my father, the little lightning like tendrils represent how life tries to spoil or taint something you work hard on. But if the metal is strong, nothing can touch you.
