(I would have done these earlier, but I had a bit of writer's block with this stuff.)
To say that living in a kingdom so close to a dragon's lair is dangerous is a large understatement, even if it seemed to be out of the way of the dragons whenever they emerged to hunt. Using powerful magics, many mages of the kingdom did their best to conceal the place from draconic eyes, which helped protect the place rather well, and the people there lived a peaceful (if at times worrying) existence. Despite all this, the daughter of the king, Princess Letta Rya, also known as Hope's Light had frequent nightmares about a demon which descended from the stars themselves and brought death and pestilence to the land. The princess, starting to believe that her dreams might be a sign of things to come, trained under the captain of the guard and the court mage in secrecy, wishing to be able to stop the evil when it arrived. Even though she trained to fight, she prayed that her dreams were just that. It was only much later that she discovered that she had been correct to seek training.
The prince had disappeared under mysterious circumstances only to reappear a month later, but the moment she laid her eyes on him, she saw a flash of something strange. She knew right away that something was wrong, and she confided in the mercenary that had arrived to the kingdom almost half a year ago. While the mercenary promised to keep an eye on the prince, in the end it wasn't enough as an ancient tome was stolen from the library by the prince who had turned into a draconic soldier.
Weeks later the princess had a prophetic vision right before a horrifying plague struck not only the kingdom, but the very land itself. When the mercenary prepared to leave to find the source of the disease, the princess managed to persuade him to take her with him, and they both left under the cover of darkness. During their travels they met with the bard and the druid, and together, they followed the trail of death and decay left by the evil that had brought the disease.
When the princess returned, she carried with her naught but a single ornate dagger, and a heavy heart. Her brother and her companion both dead, she vowed to make sure that their sacrifice would not be in vain, hiding one of the keys to the evil's prison in her father's lands.
