I managed to attend Scott Smith's All Animal Expo Dec 18 to sell cards and finish a breeding loan.
I had lent out an amel stripe girl 66% pos het butter and diffused (Agatha) I got from Cathy Love to a guy who paired her with a sulfer male (that is amel + butter + diffused) which woulda been great to test her genetics... if it had worked :/ Unfortunately she slugged out.
In return I got a creamstripe male to try with Phoenix, my creamstripe female since Ra can't breed. (And yes I still have Ra the person last year never got back to me when it was warm enough to ship O-o May be rehoming him with another nice family soon - no prob I'm in no hurry, I just want him to be in a nice place he gets lots of attention or I'll hold him myself)
Well those of you who were watching this account then know that Phoenix's clutch was also a wash; only one egg made it very long and that ended up dying with a pretty cubed-stripe baby inside :(
That's the downside of breeding, it can be a lot of disappointment and heartache. Sometimes it seems all your cool projects are the ones that don't work :/ I only hope the two projects I still have in the works will end up being more fun than frustrating!

And yeah, I woulda loved some cubed orange bbs :( Also woulda been nice knowing Agatha's genetics... I have males to pair her with again they just have one or the other (diffused or caramel) not both!

Woo, thankfully I've not lost an adult so far! It's pretty rare as far as I know *crosses fingers* The worst injury was Ra's junk D:
Usually the hatch time isn't a problem, I think the ones who were meant to make it tend to, and the ones that go bad weren't going to survive anyway...
Except my one clutch of TINY eggs, that get a lot of mold near the end :P

Sorry to hear you lost that clutch D: Those would have been gorgeous babies. I definitely hope your future projects work out well. Any ideas what you plan on breeding this season if at all? I'm still definitely interested in buying some hatchlings from you again. The ones I still have from you are doing amazing (new pictures are in my gallery :) )). I think this time if you do have any babies I'll be interested in a male of some sort.

The projects I'm waiting on are the het orchids (sunkissed + lavender) and the aneries het plasma mot dilute... they may be big enough by feb but not sure!

Well I HAVE this lavender male and lavender female I got as an adult, but I've not gotten her to breed successfully. I think my timing may be off now, though? Since I don't bruminate. I'll try the pair again this year but since it hasn't worked out the last two years I'm not super-confident it'll happen this year, ya'know?

Hmm..well definitely let me know! If you can get them I'd definitely be interested. As it is I may not be doing a full brumation now anyway. Our weather has been ridiculously warm and I can't get the temps in the room under 60 ever. So I'm probably gonna stop trying and keep them awake (Got a room heater to keep them warm anyway)...and maybe try for an earlier season.
