For
eliki It's not much I know, but I wanted to get you a little something for Christmas.
This is for your friendship and support through all the years I've known you. For all the kind words to lift me up when I'm down, for all the times you were there just because.
This is for the way you inspire me, not just with your art and your imagination but with your generosity and your warm heart. Words cannot express how much brighter my life has been thanks to the example you have set for me.
This is because I love you. Whatever the future holds, friend or lover, you will always have a place in my heart.
Merry Christmas, Kitty.

*Snuggles* You're more than welcome, hon, and I'm really glad you like it. I do know how much you like the art, and I'm only too glad to be able to get some work done for you when I can. Besides, you deserve a little something for Christmas, even if it is a few days early. As for my comments, well, you're special to me, hon and, in a way, everything you do is that much more special for it just being how you are naturally. You really are one of the kindest and most decent people I've ever met and I really do admire you a great deal.
I'm glad you like the art. It was commissioned as a monochrome piece, but part of the reason I commissioned her was because she'd done such a fantastic job with the other pieces like it in her gallery. I keep saying this, but it really is amazing how much an artist can do with just one or two colors. I was kind of surprised that she chose green for Megan, at first, but it all really does work to give the impression of a night-time scene. *Grins* They do look adorable together, don't they? I couldn't resist adding a few touches of romance to things, and I thought that having his tail around her waist was the perfect touch. Of course rabbits can't exactly return the gesture, so I decided to have her reach back and hold his hand in return. I'm glad you like the idea of them stargazing, too. I've always loved looking up at the night sky and letting my mind wander, and I kind of thought it was something you might enjoy, too. Besides, it's so much better with someone you love.
As for their clothes, I just asked the artist to dress Eliki in clothes similar to what he wore in a picture you drew for me. I think it was the one of him and Niamh running from the storm, if I remember right. For Megan's outfit, I just went with the one she wore in the Surplus to Requirements picture, since that's closer to how I really dress than the skirts and stockings I normally put her in, and I thought it would be nice to let her be as close to me as she could be for this picture.
*Cuddles* I'm so glad you like it, I really am. And of course you may post this to your gallery! I'd be honored if you did and, just like everything I buy for you, you're free to do as you like with it.

Oh wow... that really is beautiful. I honestly think it would stand out even were the characters people I knew nothing about, but of course that's not the case and it just adds another level to it. I'm going to be very boring and once again talk about expressions, but I think I'm justified: there is such a gorgeous sense of wonder and enchantment on both your and Eliki's faces there. I'm even more biased than usual here as I've always loved looking at the night sky myself, but even without that I think this is a stunning piece of work. Truly wonderful, in multiple senses of the word. =:D
It's a wonderful picture, I agree, and I love their expressions, too. While there's a very obvious romantic feel to this picture, the main thing I wanted it to show was friendship and a shared love of the wonders the world still has to offer, such as a perfectly clear night where you can watch the stars. All of which was very much inspired by Eliki's always looking to the good there is in the world, and the way he inspires me to remain optimistic and hopeful. Both of you give me that, really, and I'm all the better for it.
With luck, I should have a picture for you soon, too. I don't know if it will arrive in time for Christmas, but I really hope it will.

Well, of course I agree entirely about Eliki: I've always loved his insistence that the world is not "out to get you" and that even when things are hard there's still a lot of wonder and beauty in it. I've found that particular mindset quite inspiring, actually. And I think the picture's softly romantic nature is ideal, too: a friendship, indeed, but a very special one; it's a tremendously sweet scene, and one that really can't help but raise a smile of the "awww" variety. =:)
And awww (again!) thank you very much! *hugs* Don't worry about timing; I'm really grateful whenever it's ready. =:)
