Here is Spitfire, clutchmate/sister to Brickery. Also purchased from
Ophidile in August of 2010. A BIG 2010 yearling who is eating up to 2 large f/t rat pinks and is moving up to small adult mice soon. She is big and chunky!
She's also in shed during this picture - the clear part. Her colors are dulled out so she doesn't look as bright and pretty as usual.
She is an Anery het amel, motley, lavender - with hypo needing to be proven out.She is a great little girl and her name does not describe her anymore.
I named her Spitfire the day I got her because she was biting and attacking everything that moved (then again she had been on a long plane ride)..but now she's perfectly docile. No tail rattles, no aggression. She even gently takes food from my hands and will eat WHILE in my hands if I let her. =)

Haha nice. I'd get in trouble going around campus with any of my cuties. I've brought them to class once before to use them as an aid in a presentation though..but after that I had to keep them hidden. The funny thing is though that in the Art building (where all my classes are) I can't go one day without being asked how my snakes are doing. I'm kinda nick-named the 'Snake Lady" there.
Yeah, he's gotten the cops called on him twice. I don't know if it's a race thing, but asians REALLY don't like snakes. Both times the cops have been called, the caller has been of asian decent. No offence to asians meant by this comment, btw. But anyways he always has a zipped pocket so he can conceal her when he has to go into buildings. In fact, one time when he say that I was depressed, he called me out of my astronomy class before class started and let me have her for that class period. Luckily I had a jacket with zipper pockets that day. They both always cheer me up! :) He's got the reputation as the snake guy on campus. He also has a scorpion named Kahn!
Reminds me of my rescue snake, Hissy Bits, who's a Texas Rat Snake! We're still working on the feeding bit. Hissy Bits is probably only 3-4 months old, and like Spitfire has tamed from a hysterical little reptile that stuck at everything to a nice little girl who's very handleable, even by strangers.
Haha. Yeah, Texas rats can be mean buggers at first. I have just regular ol' grey rat snake hatchlings (hatched them myself) and they are MEAN MEAN MEAN. I get bit like 10 times before they calm down. They eat f/t no problem but they're still mean buggers. But cute as can be! They make the perfect model for photographs considering I think I have them trained to pause with their mouth open..its funny..
